Why don't I have permission to use [IMG] tags?

At the bottom of the screen when I'm posting a message, in the "Posting Permissions" section, it says "

It's turned off board wide.
We ran into issues some time ago where the links go dead, etc.
Instead, we prefer images to be attached as attachments.
